....So this was intended as my Sanji birthday pic. I STARTED it on the second, anyway. n_n;; But I burned out before I could finish it.

I don't do it often enough, but working with reference photos/models brings out the super anal retentiveness in me. Meh. On some levels I'm rather happy with this. However, there's a LOT I can't stand about it. But I made myself step away before I rubbed my fingers raw and made myself crazy. I can't stand Zoro's hand but I realized about halfway into it that it wasn't turning out decent no matter what. *However* the ears, especially Sanji's, actually please me. Mostly because I CANNOT DRAW EARS to save my damn life. Hence my lazy-half-assed style when I'm drawing anime.

Anyway. This was done using a reference photo from the charming which is here: [link] It was interesting because I don't think I've ever used a reference photo for the sake of fan art, quite to this extent. I have to apologize to though -- Zoro doesn't do his cuteness justice. Thank you so much for allowing me to use the photo -- I hope you don't mind too terribly much that I used it for the means of fan art. n_n;; I've got at least one other image of these two that I want to use as a model. I love their photos together, they're such a beautiful couple and Dak's shots of them are gorgeous and emotive. Happiness.

Anyway, yes. This took far too much time. With a mechanical pencil and my fingers. n_n;;; So happy birthday, Sanji.
